As a provider, what questions should I be asking PARENTS in the interview?

by Becky
(Minnesota)

Question:There is a lot of information out there on what parents should ask providers. I know I should be interviewing the family to see if they are a good fit for my childcare situation, but what should I ask?

Answer: This is a very smart question Becky. You have realized that it is easier to say no to a family before you start care than it is to terminate them once you do. This is so important I have spent time writing about it in two places. Check out my web page Interview Check List.

Also for more on the parent interview process and everything else you need to get your business started check out my book In Home Child Care Business. A Quick Start Guide! Let me know what you think about it, I have had lots of positive response from new providers! Julie
